About the project
The house is built from a single quarry of Roman travertine, cut into long, low courses that step down the slope toward the lake. From the road it reads as a garden wall; from the water, as a quiet terrace of rooms.
Each room faces a different hour of the day. The kitchen takes the morning, the library the long afternoon, and the bedrooms the last light off the water. Oak ceilings and linen screens soften the stone without hiding it.
