The Walnut House

Behind an unchanged street front, we replaced a tired interior with a single walnut frame that carries the stairs, shelves, beds and storage.

Paper screens filter the courtyard light, and the lime plaster walls were finished by hand over six weeks. Nothing was added that the house could not age with.
